Community of Practice for Assistive Technology

Category: News Published: 08 March 2016

DOCTRID together with the Disability Federation of Ireland and Enable Ireland are involved in a new Community of Practice initiative (CoP) to promote the importance and potential of Assistive Technology to impact positively on peoples lives. The CoP is a platform for learning and exchange of information and discussion of new ideas. The meetings are an opportunity for people from a range of backgrounds (organisations, professionals, people with disabilities, researchers) to highlight challenges they have faced in accessing AT, to share and discuss new research in the area (some ASSISTID Fellows have presented at these meetings previously) and to raise awareness of policy and practices in AT.

Anyone with an interest in assistive technology is welcome to come to these quarterly meetings and can contact Pierce Richardson, Assistive Technology Development Officer at the DFI for more information
